Trusted Parents Camp Explore
Trusted Parents Camp Explore
Description
Description
Over the years, as our campers began to age out of our camp program, parents frequently shared their concerns with us about finding a summer camp program that will transition their child(ren) into adult living. Camp Explore is an extension of Camp Trusted Parents created for our senior campers to help develop and/or strengthen their Activities Daily Living Skills (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), including but not limited to, community social skills, independent living skills, and job training.
As a new 4 weeks pilot program initiative for individuals, ages 18-30 with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, we have implemented a new curriculum just for them. The program will incorporate leisure education and pre-vocational opportunities through community volunteer service and recreation participation. Participants will be given the opportunity to develop and strengthen daily living skills and job training by volunteering with campus affiliates and organizers by following a curriculum designed to enhance their daily lives.
Planned Curriculum

- Budgeting and money management
- Community safety
- Organizing personal belongings
